Om Swami’s art, like him, follows his heart. He is a self-taught artist and a brilliant one at that. Om studied at the Raheja College.
He has honed his natural talent to be in sync with his inner being, and this reflects on each of his canvas. The theme of love is the only constant in his paintings, be it a piece of art titled ‘The rebirth of Buddha’- where Om has shown two elements – Buddha and the Kundalini flower breaking from the root chakra and making its way to the top. The love between these two elements is dynamic – the flower still on its way to the top and the Buddha without eyes, waiting for the final ascent.
Om has made Ganesha paintings unique by including ‘shlokas’ in the background. Other paintings which depict love between a man and a woman – their bodies are in rhythm and bending in the same direction. Harmony and love go hand in hand with a few natural elements that he puts in his paintings. Notice the butterfly and the flower, the moon and two lovebirds in the same frame as the two lovers.
He depicts his characters without eyes, and his subjects seem to be talking to each other in a language of love which reaches the heart of the audience. Om is a successful artist and his paintings are highly sought after. Om mostly paints with acrylics on canvas.
Currently, Om is based out of Mumbai.
