Shyamal Mukherjee is a leading Bengali artist who was born and brought up in Kolkata (1963). He pursued his art education from Santiniketan completing his BFA (1987) and MFA (1989) from Rabindra Bharti University.
Shyamal paints in the reverse oil or acrylic painting on transparent sheets which is a very time-consuming effort. He takes inspiration from his daily life and portrays figures bordering on a caricature style, which is guaranteed to make a viewer smile. Shyamal believes that his paintings should spread happiness and knows for sure that he will never paint something that does bring him and others, joy.
His work is a delightful mélange of the Bengali folk culture with his unique style of showcasing ‘Baba and Beebi’. A successful artist, his vast experience is benefitting students in international art workshops. Shyamal’s work has given him the opportunity to travel to Dubai, Sri Lanka, Bangkok, Russia, Europe, Bhutan and others. He has to his credit more than 36 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in India and abroad till date. His work is well known and is in the collections of celebrities such as Manoj Kumar, late Sunil Dutt, Varun Gandhi among many others.

Shipping and Delivery
- Within India
- If you reside within India, you can expect to receive the artwork within seven (7) to ten (10) business days from time of order.
- International Shipping
- If you reside outside India, you can expect to receive the artwork within eleven (11) to fourteen (14) business days from time of order, depending on the origin and destination of the artwork as well as the time it takes to clear customs.
Packaging
- Stretched Canvas
- Most artworks on the site are on stretched canvas. The artworks will be rolled, bubble wrapped and placed inside a protective cylinder to ensure the artwork doesn’t get damaged during shipping.
- Canvas/ Wood Board/ Framed
- Paintings on wooden or canvas boards or framed works will be bubble wrapped and placed in a sturdy box. We assure you that utmost care will be taken while packing the product.
