The painting “Horizon” brings life to the idea “Where the sky bends down to meet the earth”. In Horizon, Dinkar illustrates the tender love and care shared by a couple. Symbolically representing a man, the horse is expressing his love towards the lady by bowing to her. By bending his neck —where horses carry most of their physical strength” the horse has offered his everything to the lady of his dreams. The red rose in the nude lady’s hands, expresses her gratification and acceptance of his love. Her innocent but expressive eyes and virtuous beauty convey her compassion for the male counterpart of the painting. Various shades of blue create a dreamy background for the subjects which combined with Dinkar’s unique transparent layering makes the painting absolutely stunning. Through his colours and technique the artist portrays spiritual, selfless and unconditional love and bonding in this painting.

In 2016 Dinkar Jadhav received the Pune City First Award for Painting by the Prafulla Art Foundation Kalanand Contest. Not only this, but he has been awarded by the Bombay Art Society (2009), Art Society of India (2009), V.V. Oak Award, Pune (2009), State Award for Portrait Painting (1995), Best Landscape Annual Awards (1991-1994) and Annual Award for Sketching (1990-1991). His repertoire is vast, yet he currently prefers acrylic on canvas.

During his days as a student of Art he was inspired by J.M.W Turner, and he began to work in Impasto – a thickly textured paint that imparts a quality of ‘movement’ to the art. Dinkar has also been fascinated with the play of light on nature, though he has never attempted to create the same colors on canvas. He breaks the colors into blocks on the canvas, never trying a uniform colored canvas. Dinkar has evolved so much as an artist that you can see the dynamism and the impact of his work on the viewer. Take his 2017 series “Anguish to Ecstasy” which throws the viewer into a romance between elements of Nature, the sun, and the moon and horses.

He has studied in Kala Vishwa Mahavidyalaya at Sangli and Abhinava Kala Vidyalaya, Pune. Dinkar has been a hard worker since the very beginning, and it is not surprising that he has managed to collect so many accolades on the way. Dinkar has been a part of more than 100 exhibitions and group shows around India. He has a fan following in countries abroad as well – U.S.A, Germany, Canada, Singapore, and India. Corporate and individuals across the world are collectors of his work. Dinkar has actively participated in charity auctions.

Dinkar was born in 1973, Jadhavadi, Pune. He is currently living and working in Pune, Maharashtra.
